What changed
SES announced the launch of O3b mPOWER satellites eleven, twelve and thirteen aboard a Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral on September 13. The company describes them as the final three spacecraft in the constellation. It expects them to become operational by mid-2027, joining ten already providing services in medium Earth orbit.
Why it matters
The additional spacecraft could give SES more capacity and flexibility for telecom, enterprise and mobility customers. For buyers, the relevant milestone will be the availability of usable service on required routes, rather than launch completion alone.
What remains unproven
The announcement does not demonstrate the new satellites delivering customer traffic. Capacity and resilience improvements remain prospective, and SES supplies no independent performance measurements for this newly launched group or guaranteed service-entry date.
