What changed

Cornelis announced Active Compute Fabric and $205 million in expansion funding on September 14. The proposed architecture moves some work from accelerators into the network, where operations can act on data in transit.

Product stages

Cornelis says CN5000 already ships for scale-out transport. CN6000 is sampling, with wider availability forecast for the fourth quarter of 2026. It adds communication acceleration. Programmable compute and native UALink/ESUN connections within accelerator systems belong to future CN7000. The CN6000 delivery forecast does not date CN7000.

What remains unproven

Reducing communication delays could improve accelerator utilization. However, next-generation performance claims come from vendor simulations and modeling, rather than customer production results. Buyers still need workload-specific evidence before treating projected improvements as demonstrated savings.
