What changed
Thinkbroadband reported that FibreNest locations are beginning to appear as available to retailers using Open Fibre Networks. Its checks found availability at two of ten locations: Capel St Mary and Diss. The provider lists differed, with substantially more choice at Capel St Mary. This follows OFNL's acquisition of FibreNest in May 2025.
Why it matters
For affected households, opening the same fibre infrastructure to additional retailers could expand the choice of service and support. Address-level availability is therefore more useful than a general declaration that two networks have been integrated.
What remains unproven
The checks are a small sample, not a nationwide completion audit. They do not establish successful customer installations, better speeds or lower bills. Thinkbroadband's observations support a gradual expansion of choice, with significant local differences.
