What changed
Cloudflare’s Browser Run service now accepts hostname restrictions when sessions start through Puppeteer, Playwright or its REST API. The settings limit HTTP and HTTPS requests to permitted destinations. The same release adds read-only Live View links, allowing someone to observe an active browser without clicking, typing, navigating or executing JavaScript through that link.
Why it matters
For hosted browser workflows, destination controls can make dependencies more explicit: a rendering job can be limited to expected sites and supporting services. Observation-only access also offers a way to inspect a running workflow without an observer changing its state. These are operational controls that teams can incorporate into their own execution setup.
What remains unproven
The announcement supplies no workload benchmarks or comprehensive isolation assessment. A read-only viewing link does not change the session’s hostname restrictions.
