What changed
Snowflake has moved broader table-format support in interactive warehouses from preview to general availability. Customers can query standard, dynamic, Iceberg and hybrid tables directly. The release removes the need to copy or transform those datasets into interactive tables before using this warehouse option.
Why it matters
The change could simplify the data preparation behind frequently refreshed dashboards and applications. Keeping an existing table usable by another query engine configuration may reduce duplicate datasets and the work of keeping them synchronized. That is an architectural benefit, rather than a measured saving established here.
What remains unproven
Snowflake describes low latency and high concurrency as characteristics of interactive warehouses, but publishes no workload-specific benchmark in this note. Query plans, costs and performance on a customer's own tables remain matters for testing.
