THE ESSENTIALS
  • Printing requires separate compatible equipment.

What changed

Fujifilm has announced the instax Pal 2 for Europe, with expected late-September availability at €169.99. The pocket camera adds an optical viewfinder and a one-inch screen for reviewing pictures. Images can move to its smartphone app through Bluetooth or a USB-C connection.

Why it matters

The combination gives photographers a way to frame and check pictures on the camera before transferring them. That could reduce dependence on the phone during shooting. Printing remains a separate step requiring compatible instax equipment and film, so the camera price does not represent a complete instant-print setup.

What remains unproven

Fujifilm's release establishes planned features and pricing, without independent image-quality testing. App usability and transfer reliability remain untested here, and the announced availability window is not confirmation that retailers have received stock.
