What changed
Anthropic released Claude for Financial Advisors, bundling connectors and task instructions for meeting preparation, portfolio reviews and documentation. The company says sensitive actions and client communications remain subject to human approval. Separately, Addepar says its connector supplies calculated portfolio results under user permissions and is available to eligible clients in beta.
Why it matters
The useful design question is where calculations happen. Letting an established portfolio system return governed results could reduce the amount of financial logic a language model must reconstruct, while giving staff a conversational way to inspect information.
What remains unproven
Neither announcement establishes error rates or measured time savings. A plugin launch also does not mean every partner connection is generally available. Firms would still need to assess outputs and access controls.
