What changed
Fujitsu announced MONAKA, describing a processor that stacks 2nm compute cores with 5nm cache and input/output circuitry. The company lists a maximum frequency of 3.8GHz and memory transfers of 8800MT/s. It also announced servers using the chip, and claims twice the inference throughput of other CPUs through hardware acceleration and software optimization.
Why it matters
Our analysis: the architecture offers a concrete example of assigning different manufacturing processes to different processor functions. Prospective users would still need workload-specific measurements before treating the supplier's broad performance comparison as a purchasing basis.
What remains unproven
The page initially promises November 2026 availability, but later places processor supply in fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 and server shipments from April 2027. That internal inconsistency prevents a firm delivery conclusion; the performance claims also lack independent verification here.
