What AWS announced
AWS added a native Confluence Data Center source connector to Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base. The announcement describes connecting a self-managed Confluence deployment and ingesting content including pages and blog posts, with incremental synchronization.
Connectivity is only the beginning
Treat a new connector as an integration capability, not approval to index an entire workspace. A useful pilot should name the spaces in scope, the owner of the information and how access restrictions will be evaluated. The connector’s existence is not evidence that every document is suitable for retrieval.
What to verify in a pilot
Choose a small, representative collection. Check whether additions, edits and removals reach the index as expected, and test both an authorized and an unauthorized reader. Record the source and index observation times separately. This report summarizes the announcement; it is not an implementation or security assessment of a customer deployment.
